
Dimapur, May 9 (DIPR): The monthly District Planning and Development Board meeting of Dimapur district was held on May 9 in the Conference Hall of Deputy Commissioner.
Chairing the meeting, DC Dimapur Kesonyu Yhome, lamented that despite threats of disaster Dimapur district is unprepared and reminded the District Disaster Management Committee about its role in the event of any crisis. He also informed the officers to personally attend the trainings conducted by the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority and not to send their subordinates.
Agendas of the day included opening of Spring Valley School at Chekiye village, up gradation of Rinchio Academy, Sovima from middle high school to high school, shifting of Noah's Ark International School from Sovima Village to New campus at Tenyiphe-1 village. Considering the satisfactory reports of the agendas the board recommended all three agendas to the government for approval and necessary action.
The DC informed the house that June 5 of every year is being observed as world environment day and the same will be observed on June 4 this year 5th being Sunday. DC informed that in this regard social work will be conducted and asked participation of all departments. Date of social work would be intimated in due course of time he informed.
Fishery and Irrigation & Flood departments highlighted the activities, ongoing projects and achievements of the department through power point presentation.
Chief Wildlife and Medical departments have been entrusted to give their departmental presentation in the next DPDB meeting.
