Dimapur district wins cultural event in State Level Yuva Utsav Nagaland

Nagaland Youth Resources & Sports Advisor, S Keoshu Yimkhiung today expressed happiness over the youngsters and youths of the nation striving for greater cause and not just staying at their comfort zone.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of State Level Yuva Utsav Nagaland at Indira Gandhi Stadium Kohima, he said that most of the population of India is from youth groups, which stands 62%.

He said that the future of any country depends on its youth “because only youths can consider as well as represent the country well.”

Keoshu said that Yuva Utsav is conducted throughout the country to empower the youths and to develop the personality and leadership qualities of the youth and to engage them in nation building.

“The unification of people within the state is the most important factor for nation building,” the advisor said.

Stating that youth will be the torch bearer and leaders of tomorrow, he said “Instead of engaging in all the ill-social activities and getting wasted in intoxicants and crimes of today's world, I urge all, specially the youths of the state to rediscover your true self and be a part of nation building.”

The state level Yuva Utsav for Nagaland was marked by competitions in young artist (Painting), young writers (Poetry), photography, declamation contest and cultural (Group). John Makhabo, Deputy Director, NYKS Nagaland proposed closing remarks. This state level Yuva Utsav was organized by Youth Resources & Sports, Nagaland and Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan.

The first, second and third position winners in cultural event received Rs 40,000, Rs 25,000 and Rs 15,000 respectively. The first, second and third position winners in Declamation Contest, Young writer, Young artists and mobile photography received Rs 15,000, Rs 7500 and Rs 5000 respectively.

Ruokuovikho Chale, Acct & Programme Asst. NYKS told The Morung Express that the first position of the Cultural fest and Declamation Contest will represent the state at the national level competition.

1st- Neisaho Noho (Kohima); 2nd- Asenle Magh (Tseminyu); 3rd- Mutunuzo Chizo (Phek)
