Dimapur: DMC alerts public against forgery of municipal documents

Unauthorised printing to face legal, administrative action

Dimapur, November 24 (MExN): The Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) has issued a stringent warning against the unauthorized printing of official materials and the illegal reproduction of its official seal and the signature of its Chief Executive Officer.

In an official press release, the Council stated that it has observed several printing presses and individuals engaged in printing official receipt books, office identity cards, and other materials without any valid order or authorization from the municipal body.

The release highlighted that certain entities have been illegally reproducing the office's rubber seal and digitally copying or scanning the signature of the DMC Chief Executive Officer, Thungchanbemo Tungoe, for use in these unauthorized documents.

The DMC has termed these actions as “serious misconduct and illegal fabrication of official documents.” It clarified that the reproduction of the office seal or the creation and use of scanned signatures without explicit written approval is a strict violation of official protocols and is liable for legal consequences.

The Council issued a “strict and final warning” that any printing press, business establishment, or individual found producing, reproducing, fabricating, or distributing such unauthorized materials will face stringent legal and administrative action as per relevant laws and regulations.

All concerned parties have been directed to cease and desist from such practices with immediate effect. The DMC affirmed that only documents and materials issued through proper official requisition and duly authenticated by its office will be recognized as valid.

This press release was issued by the DMC CEO Thungchanbemo Tungoe in the public interest and for strict compliance.
