DIMAPUR, AUGUST 2 (MExN): The Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) has expressed sincere appreciation to all the institutions and also to the district administration for heeding to their clarion call.
In a press release, DNSU media cell maintained that the appeal was necessitated because of the concern for the welfare of the students and also because of the requests from the parents.
With respite in sight, according to the Indian Meteorological Department, a cooler spell is expected in the coming days, bringing much-needed relief to the region, it stated.
In a meeting with the authorities, the DNSU said it discussed future courses of action in case the weather becomes unbearable again. The authorities have demonstrated their concern for the students’ well-being and are committed to ensuring their safety, it added.
While appreciating the institutions that extended the summer vacation, prioritizing the students’ health, the DNSU said that since the hot weather has subsided, it urged these institutions to resume classes forthwith. This will ensure that valuable academic time is not lost, should the authorities order a closure in the future, it said.
It, meanwhile, appealed the institutions to be well-prepared with essential facilities, including first aid kits, medical necessities, power backup, clean drinking water, and other amenities to guarantee the students’ well-being.
