Dimapur, July 5 (MExN): The Dimapur District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting for the month of July was held at DC conference hall on July 5 chaired by Minister of PHED, Jacob Zhimomi who is also the Chairman of Dimapur District Planning & Development Board.
A DIPR report stated that advocating for a cleaner and healthier workplace in the district, Chairman, suggested all departments to appoint one Swatch Bharat incharge, who will be responsible to maintain cleaner and more hygienic workplace and its surrounding, which all members agreed. He briefed the Board Members about the merger of water related works under one Ministry called Jal Shakti that aims at providing clean drinking water as well as to fight water woes in the country. While commenting on the presentation given by Land Resources Department, Zhimomi suggested carrying out media campaign on different schemes and projects so that targeted section of people are informed and benefited.
Based on the recommendation given by the Committee constituted during previous Board meeting, the house recommended the registration of Wondering Mind Society, Sematilla and Capstone Educational Societies, Thilixu village. Registration of Society in respect of KV Society, Toluvi village was also approved for recommendation after deliberation. Proposal for Grand-in Aid in respect of S. Apostolic Mission Residential School, Dimapur and upgradation of GMS Toluvi to High School level were also approved based on the verification report.
As suggested by one of the Board members in regard to acknowledging dedicated Government servants in the district on special occasions, the house constituted a committee headed by Deputy Commissioner.
During the meeting, the department of Land Resources gave a PowerPoint presentation, highlighting the activities and its achievements in the district. Medical Department gave a presentation on Dengue awareness during which Common clinical symptoms, sequence of events, treatments, common breeding sites and its control measures were explained in detail.
