Dimapur Government College celebrated its 56th Annual Freshers’ Meet on September 8 in the college auditorium under the theme, “Persistence over Perfection.”
The special guest for the event was Yanpvuo Kikon, Founder of East West Logistics, Kikonic Tech, Kley Enterprise and Kohima Lead Generation Centre.
Speaking on the occasion, he motivated the gathering of students, faculty and invitees by sharing his life experiences and stated that one should strive for improvement rather than perfection.
Kikon cited the examples of global companies that have survived because they have consistently strive to improve.
The meet included a myriad of songs, performances and speeches by students and a welcome address by DGC Principal Prof Sanjay Sharma.
Meanwhile, the highlight of the event was the selection of Mr & Miss Fresher.
After going through four rounds of assessment, Anando Nayak and Phangmei M Konyak were respectively declared the Mr Fresher and Miss Miss Fresher 2023.
Konyak was also adjudged the Miss Talent.
Hannyentoba Chang was also Mr Talent & Mr Perfect while Denja P Hoichem was chosen Miss Perfect.
The judges were Logan Jeke Tamin (freelance model, fashion choreographer, Show Director of Miss Si Donyi organisation and winner of 4 beauty pageants), Linovi P Kiba (reigning Miss Sumi, 1st runners up 2022 and Queen of Hearts, Miss Nagaland 2022) and KL Pamei (singer and songwriter).
