Dimapur, July 16 (MExN): A farewell programme was held in Dimapur Government College (DGC) in honour of retiring Assistant Professor, Dr Tainla Mar on July 16.
The programme was chaired by Dr Benjongkumba, Department of Education. Speeches were delivered by Principal in-charge Kezhaleu Hesso, Supong Jamir, President DGCTA and Diethoseu Mepfhuo, HOD, Department of Education.
DGC Publicity & Media Cell in a press release said that the speakers described Dr Tainla as a sincere, hardworking and dedicated teacher who possessed natural teaching skills appreciated by the students. She was conferred with a doctorate towards the end of her service which indicates her zeal and love for learning.
Dr Tainla in her speech recalled the memories of her initial years of teaching where she started her teaching career as a post graduate teacher, shared her passion for teaching and also the experiences she went through her service. She stated that DGC was like a home to her and though her stay in the college was a brief one, she has many good memories to take with her.
The programme concluded with a special prayer of blessing by Rebainla Ao, Associate Professor, DGC.
