Jain community in Dimapur along with others are celebrating the 2621st Birth Anniversary of their 24th Tirthankar Lord Mahavira on April 3 and 4.
Dimapur, April 3 (MExN): Dimapur Jain Samaj has welcomed the presence of two lady monks Garimamati Mataji & Gambhirmati Mataji along with four more lady monks (Chhullika) under them. They arrived in Dimapur on March 26 walking down from Jaipur after staying at some places on the way. They belong to the same Sangh of Suparsvamati Mataji, which had visited Dimapur earlier in 1976. It is expected that they will stay here at least for six months, Sushil Paharia, Publicity & Information Secretary, SD Jain Samaj Dimapur stated in a press release.
Regular discourses from the two lady monks were the highlight of 2621st Birth Anniversary celebration of Lord Mahavira in Dimapur, it stated.
Speaking on the occasion, Garimamati Mataji declared that USA returned Professor, now Sister Usha will renounce this world in the 1st week of June 2023 amidst Dimapur Jain Samaj. Many Jain tourists from whole over India will be visiting Nagaland during the occasion for religious pilgrimage, it added.
Various Jain organisations of Dimapur viz. Digamber Jain samaj, Mahila Samaj, Jivan Jyoti, Sanmati Mahila Parishad, Jain Ahinsa Samiti, Veer Kanya Manch, Namokar Vikas Mandal & Jain Yuvak Sangh together participated in the procession & other activities alongwith all the Jains, including the Oswal Samaj.
Jains are celebrating the 2621st Birth Anniversary of their 24th Tirthankar Lord Mahavira across the globe on April 3 and 4. Various programs were organised at Dimapur's Jain Temple, Mahavir Bhawan & Jain School viz. Namokar chanting, Pathshala, Prabhat Pheri, Jayanti procession, showering of Lord Mahavira for World Peace & evening feast.
Meanwhile, the Dimapur Digamber Jain Samaj, President, Om Prakash Sethi has wished that this year will specially bring more peace and prosperity in Nagaland.
