Dimapur to join World Music Day celebrations

Dimapur, June 17 (MExN): Dimapurians for the first time will experience a magical touch of Fusion Music in the worldwide “World Music Day” celebrations to be held on June 21, 2011 at 5.30 pm at IMC Hall. The event will feature well known musical groups from the North East and outside who have excelled in their chosen field. A press note issued by Som Kamei, director, NEZCC stated that the event is being organized by the North East Zone Cultural Centre in collaboration with the well known Abiogenesis Society to promote tradition based Folk Fusion Music and Contemporary Fusion Music from North East Region. The NEZCC have lined up an interesting collection of bands based in the region and outside.
 Apart from the Abiogenesis Band, who is the pioneer of Howey Music and inventor of BAMHUM, a Wind musical Instrument, Snow White a well known Music Group  from Shillong, Alice in Wonderland, an experimental fusion band from Kohima, NaadBrahma featuring Sitarist Hem Hazarika and his accompanists from Assam, NE Xpress featuring Sonam Sherpa, Dilip Ramachandran (Parikrama) from Delhi. The note further mentioned that the event will be launched by Alemtemshi Jamir, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary to the Government of Nagaland. NEZCC cordially invites and welcome all music lovers to join this unprecedented event and enjoy the unique, enriching and wonderful musical experience. Entry is free for all.
