
Dimapur, November 8 (MExN): The land dispute case between Diphupar village and Naga United Village, Dimapur on the eastern side of the Diphu River which has been pending for the last twenty years has been amicably settled on November 7, the Diphupar Village Council, informed. According to Diphupar Village Council Secretary, Lanutoshi, the deed of agreement was signed by representatives of both villages in the presence of GBs, Village Council members, VDB members and youth members of both the villages.
In the deed, it has been agreed that, the existing road leading to Diphu River from Niuland road on the eastern side of the river shall be common to both villages. The villages have also agreed to withdraw the pending case from the court of the Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur. Furthermore, with the settlement of land dispute between the two villages, it has been decided that all erstwhile disputed land shall now be under the jurisdiction of Naga United Village, except a plot of land as mentioned as follows: north- Naga United Village (boundary stone laid); south- approach road to Diphu River (east of Dihpu River), west- Diphu River and east- Chekhuta. The final boundary between Diphupar Village and Seithekema Basa was also signed by the Council members of both the villages on October 10, 2011, it was informed.
