The Dimapur district administration is likely to enforce total lockdown tomorrow May 22 starting 12 noon till midnight. All shops would remain closed while traffic and public movement will be prohibited, except exempted categories, during the lockdown period. It may be mentioned that around 1500 Nagaland citizens would be returning to the state from Chennai on a special train and will reach Dimapur at 1: 05 pm on May 22.
Confirming to The Morung Express about the Dimapur lockdown tomorrow, a reliable source informed that the lockdown is enforced to facilitate smooth transportation of the returnees from train station to their respective destinations and designated quarantine centres since more than 50 buses would be pressed into service. The lockdown is also enforced to discourage parents, relatives and friends of the returnees from meeting them at the railway station which if allowed might create chaos.
