Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) on Friday organized a felicitation programme for 44 toppers of HSLC and HSSLC from Dimapur at Town Hall.
SDO (C) Dimapur, Albert Ezung who was the chief guest in place of Parliamentary Secretary, Jacob Zhimomi urged the toppers not to rest on their recent achievement but to use it as a launching pad for further achievement. “There is no room for complacency and you need to be very clear about what you want to become in life,” he advised the students.
He said academic excellence was always desirable but urged the students to look at education in a holistic approach and use it as a tool to become good citizens and a good human being.
Exhorting the students, Commissioner of Taxes, Asangba Chuba Ao, IAS pointed out that goals can change with the passage of time but encouraged the students to be committed and sincere in all their endeavours. He enlightened the students on the 3Ds formula of Determination, Dedication and Discipline to achieve success in life.
Speaking about job opportunities which have apparently become rare, Asangba also emphasized on the employability factor in the pursuit of education. He encouraged the students to give their best in all efforts and contribute their part to the society. The felicitation programme was attended by students of various schools, teachers, parents, guardians and civil society leaders.
