Dimapur: Netaji colony celebrates silver jubilee

Dimapur, November 12 (MExN): Residents of Netaji colony celebrated silver jubilee in a befitting manner with MLA & Advisor Power, H Tovihoto as the special guest on November 12.

Tovihoto dubbed Netaji colony as one of the most peaceful although it is being inhabited by people from different religious beliefs and community from all walks of life, stated a DIPR report. 

“This is the true essence of secularism,” the special guest noted. Encouraging the Netaji colony residents to always stay united, Tovihoto said, “When there is unity there is strength and when there is strength there is everything.” 

Observing the celebration of 25 years of existence as significant that comes once in a lifetime, Tovihoto felt that people of today's generation need to acknowledge and respect the pioneers who has sacrificed everything to make the colony.

He encouraged the gathering for embracing the spirit of forgiveness during such celebration. Jubilee is also a time for celebration and to come together as one in spirit and in prayers. While mentioning Netaji colony as his second home, the special guest encouraged the residents to make it a model colony by continuing to build good reputation. 

Earlier, the special guest also unveiled the monolith marking the day.

Advocate PB Paul gave a brief history of Netaji colony while shirt speeches were also delivered by Mrs.Khetoli Chishi and advocate YP Gupta. Netaji colony Chairman, Wekhro K Mero delivered the welcome note while Pastor, Hope of life Ministry Sanjay Kr.Dey invoked God's blessings.

Other highlights included special songs and dances. Vote of thanks was proposed by Advocate, KK Paul who is also the convenor of Jubilee celebration committee and benediction was pronounced by Adage Neil, Pastor, Mao Baptist Church, Chümoukedima.
