DIMAPUR, JULY 11 (MExN): With emergency road repairs carried out on the Dimapur-Niuland-Kohima road via Ghotovi village/Zadima, the Ghotovi Village Council (GVC) has informed public to consider using the said road during emergency situation.
A press release issued by GVC informed that repair works along the road spanning from zero point in Niuland to 16 kms in the Dimapur division was carried out from July 5-10 under the initiative of DC Niuland, Sara Jamir in collaboration with Executive Engineer, PWD (R&B), Inahoto and supervised by JE, Vinoto Zhimomi.
In light of this development, the village council has advised commuters using National Highway 29 to consider using this route during emergency situation, the press release informed.
Furthermore, the GVC has appealed the Nagaland government to allocate emergency funds for repairing of side drain and clearing the surrounding jungle given that the road in question (Kohima-Bokajan) serves as the primary lifeline and a shorter alternative route for districts of Kohima, Tseminyu, Wokha, Zunheboto, Tuensang etc.
