Dimapur, June 7 (MExN): In view of the scheduled arrival of the Special Shramik Train from Gujarat and Maharashtra on Monday, there will be total restriction of normal vehicular traffic in Dimapur from 9:00 am to midnight of June 8.
Officials/personnel of health department/administration/police/medical emergency cases/press and others directly involved in the said exercise will be exempt, stated an order from the Commissioner of Police.
The Dimapur Deputy Commissioner, in a separate order, also notified the closure of all shops/markets from 9:00 am to midnight on Monday.
The orders were issued quite late irking residents. According to a Dimapur resident, the district authorities should have dispatched it earlier. “We all knew the train will reach on Monday. But making the announcement late in the night has inconvenienced the public, who have errands to run. If only they had announced earlier in the evening, we would have adjusted accordingly,” he commented.
