Dimapur, August 22 (MExN): The Dimapur Phom Union (DPU) today extended its full endorsement to the August 7 resolution of NFHRCC and requested the State Government to respond positively to the committee’s demand.
Else, the DPU will extend full support to the proposed indefinite agitation by NFHRCC, stated a press release from DPU’s Vice-president NT Thamlong Phom and General Secretary, H Philip Buchem.
On August 7, the Nagaland Foothills Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC) served a 30-day deadline to the State Government to positively respond to its demand for a ‘pliable foothills road.’
The DPU also expressed its appreciation to the initiatives undertaken by NFHRCC for construction of Foothills road, which it said would immensely benefit the border areas in particular and Nagaland in general.
In this connection, the union requested all the Nagas to extend full “support to the project which will enhance the developmental activities of Nagaland.”
