Dimapur, October 20 (MExN): The Dimapur Police, in a series of cases clamped down on crimes in the city, arrested 11 persons in six days. The first arrest was made on October 15.
A press note from the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Dimapur informed that one Rendemo Ezung (21) has been arrested on October 15 on charges of house breaking and theft and a case registered against him at east police station.
The Dimapur police on October 18 arrested one Hotovi Zhimo (46) on charges of illegal gambling at railway bazaar. A case has been registered against at Sub-Urban Police Station, Dimapur. In a separate incident on the same day, the Dimapur Police, Anti Vehicle Theft Squad (AVTS) arrested Inaka Achumi (23), and Kaviho Chophy (24), on charges of bike theft. In this connection a case has been registered at East Police Station, Dimapur.
On October 20, the Dimapur police arrested one Puloto Awomi (21) for obstructing Police personnels on duty. In this connection a case has been registered at East Police Station for further investigation.
The Dimapur police recovered (1) motorbike (Hero Sports) B/R. No. NIL, C/No MBLKCS296HGJQ1215, E/No. KG12EHHGJQ2772. (2) Motor Bike (Baja Pulsar) Color- Black B/R. No. NL-01J5973 C/No. MD2DHDZZTCJ50799, E/No. DHGPTJ36513. The rightful owners have been informed to contact Chumukedima PS for details.
In a case of extortion, the Dimapur police apprehended one Anaka Katty on October 16 while collecting illegal tax from the vegetable vendors and seized cash of Rs. 550/- from his possession. In this connection a case has been registered at East Police Station for further investigation.
On October 18, the Dimapur apprehended (1) Mukhi Yim (32) of GPRN/NSCN, (2) Ahaito Achumi (34), (3) Shikato Achumi (37), (4) Avika Yepthomi (30), while they were demanding money from the business community and seized (a) FGN Tax Slip- 06 (b) Brown sugar- 01 pkt from their possession. In this connection a case has been registered at East Police Station Dimapur for further investigation.
On October 20 Dimapur Police Anti Extortion Team (AET), arrested one person Atikur Rahaman (38) for collecting illegal tax from the betel leaves whole sellers allegedly for a Naga political group at Hazi park area, Dimapur. In this connection a case has been registered at East Police station, Dimapur for further investigation.
