Dimapur, October 24 (MExN): Dimapur Police Anti Extortion Team (AET) arrested extortionists on different occasions during the last week.
On October 18, two persons – Rajapeyu NSCN (U) Puloto Achumi (23years) and PVT NSCN (U) Kivito Kiba (34 years) both residents of Project Colony, Niuland, Dimapur were apprehended while collecting illegal tax near Faith Hospital, Dimapur. As per a press release from Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police/PRO, Dimapur, a cash of Rs 670 was seized from the possession of Puloto Achumi. In this connection a case has been registered at West Police Station.
On October 21, Dimapur Police AET apprehended two persons – Phushito Aye (35 years) Finance Secretary of GPRN/NNC (N/A) and Akhevi (28 years) both residents of Bank colony Dimapur for collecting yearly tax of GPRN/NNC (N/A). A cash of Rs 1300 was recovered from their possession. In this connection a case has been registered at East Police Station.
On October 23, Dimapur Police apprehended one Inavi Achumi, Deputy Kilonser NSCN (K) for illegal tax collection from various transporter agencies and business establishment in Dimapur town area. One mobile handset along with a SIM card used for making multiple extortion calls was also seized from his possession. In this connection a case has been registered at East Police Station.
On October 22, Dimapur Police arrested two women from Hotel Star Inn, Dimapur and seized brown sugar – 10 packets (each weighing 10 gram) from their possession. In this connection a case has been registered at East Police Station.
