Dimapur, April 27 (MExN): Dimapur Police have registered several cases in the last few days.
On April 27 around 12:30 am, one person identified as Ruokuobeiu Mere (36) was arrested while allegedly carrying out extortion in Chumukedima, Ward- 6. A press release from PRO, Dimapur Police informed that one AK-47 rifle, 18 live rounds and an empty case were recovered from his possession. His accomplice managed to escape under the cover of darkness, it added. A case has been registered at Chumukedima Police Station for further investigation.
Dimapur Police conducted raid at Gurzzer Lounge in Nagarjan on April 26 around 11:15 pm and seized assorted liquor. It consisted of cane beer (Kingfisher) – 6 cases, Breezer -1 case and 18 bottles, Whisky Blenders Pride – 3 bottles, and Vodka white moment – 1 bottle, informed that press release. Two persons identified as Kakito Shekie (28) and Rocky Achumi (23) were arrested in this connection and a case has been registered at East Police Station and investigation is on, it said.
On April 26, Dimapur Police AET Zone-2 also apprehended one person named Vihuto Achumi (29) while collecting “extortion” money from fruit vendors at New Market, Dimapur, according to the press release. A case has been registered at West Police Station for further investigation.
Meanwhile, it was informed that on April 25, one person identified as Vikuosa Mepfuo (38) was produced by 32 Assam Rifles for possessing illegal arms and ammunition. In this connection, a case has been registered at Chumukedima Police Station for further course of investigation.
