April is ‘Weight & Measure’ month in Zone II

  Dimapur, April 19 (MExN): The Dimapur Police today issued an advisory all Proprietors of Printing Press, Rubber Stamp vendors and related business houses located within Dimapur not to print Official letter pads and Seals of Government Offices and Officers without authorization of the Office or the Officer concerned.   “Non-compliance of the advisory and, in the event of misuse of such stationeries thereof, will entail liabilities upon such business establishments,” the Addl. Dy Commissioner of Police/PRO, Dimapur informed in a press note.   The police also advised citizens and customers to be vigilant against by manipulation or use of non-certified weights & measures in shops, stores, meat vendors and other entities.   To curb the case cheating, it further encouraged citizens to report any such incident to the police to enable legal actions.   “While customers are reported to have been detecting such practices very frequently, especially in meat shops, most do not bother to official complain on such matters,” the PRO noted.   In this connection, the Dimapur Police under Zone-II is observing the month of April as “Weight & Measure” month, it said adding that various exercises on the matter are being carried out and defaulters have been booked under relevant sections of law.
