Dimapur Police recover heroin from hit-and-run vehicle

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 1 (MExN): Dimapur Police has recovered 18 soap cases of suspected heroin (Shanflower), weighing approximately 230 grams, from a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run incident.

According to police, a Wagon-R (Regn No AS07P-5457) collided with a Bolero at Tragopan Police Point and fled towards Khatkhati, Assam on October 30. A search operation was immediately launched and Khatkhati Police Station was alerted to intercept the vehicle.

The same day, the vehicle was found abandoned at Khatkhati and was subsequently towed back to Tragopan Police Point for spot verification. During the search, conducted in the presence of independent witnesses, the suspected contraband was found concealed in a secret chamber of the vehicle. 

A case has been registered at East Police Station (Case No.196/25) and investigation is underway, police said.
