
Dimapur February 24 (MExN): Dimapur Press Club (DPC) today inaugurated its office building at Supermarket area adjacent to Northeast Herald office in the presence of Temjen Editor, Tir Yimyim, Public Relations Officer Lt. Col. Nirupam Bhargava, representatives from Telegraph, Guwahati Press and Kohima Press Club.
Congratulating the DPC on its launching of its premier office, Editor of Tir Yimyim said it was a long felt aspiration of the club which should be credited as a great achievement.
The press fraternity of Dimapur has been deprived of deserved facilities from the state government and IPR for decades, he said though journalists in Nagaland especially in Dimapur have been more hardworking and sacrificial than their counterparts. PRO Lt Col Nirupam Bhargava espousing on the tasks of the fourth estate said reporters were the backbone of every papers and expressed enthusiasm that the opening of the club would enhance its members in bringing together a united effort for more intellectual reporting. He also promised to endeavor towards providing facilities to the club building through the Civic Action Plan during the next financial year.
