Dimapur Press Club Sports Meet 2016 concludes

Dimapur, November 11 (MExN): The two days Annual Sports Meet of the Dimapur Press Club (DPC) concluded on Friday, November 11 at Indoor Stadium, Dimapur with Chandu Agarwal, former district Governor, Rotary International District 3240 and chairman IRCS Dimapur district as the chief guest.   Addressing the media persons, Agarwal acknowledged the strenuous job of collecting information on the latest happenings around the world and presenting it on a public platform. He lauded the press fraternity for taking time and organising such event despite their demanding job and expressed hope that the press fraternity will continue to organise such events annually.   Applauding the winners, Agarwal conveyed that sports, particularly team sports create purposeful and meaningful social relationships. Quoting the maxim ‘Man is a social animal’ he said men need to socially connect with others and that social interactions with friends and workmates provide us highly desirable security, belongingness and happiness. He therefore reminded the press fraternity that happiness originating from participation in sports is highly cherished.   Meanwhile, the DPC expressed gratitude to the Editor of Morung Express and Executive Editor of Eastern Mirror for their active participation at the sports meet.
