Dimapur Railway Police arrests 2

DIMAPUR, MAY 13 (MExN): Personnel of the Dimapur Government Railway Police, on May 12, arrested two persons for “snatching and lifting bags and belongings of train passengers.” A press note from the office of the Dimapur Superintendent of Police informed that the GRPS personnel were deployed on surveillance duties in the trains, following complaints of theft and robbery in trains by unknown miscreants.

The note stated that the duty personnel apprehended the two persons when they were fleeing after stealing a leather bag belonging to a passenger of the Rajdhani Express. The two arrested have been identified as Apovi Zhimomi (20) and Inoto Yepthomi (23). Police informed that the arrested have admitted to snatching and lifting bags and belongings of passengers on several occasions. The stolen leather bag, containing a laptop and three Bank Cheque books of the owner, were recovered along with two mobile phones, a vehicle key and six capsules of Spasmo Proxyvon. Police have registered a case and is making efforts to recover other stolen items, stated the press note.
