Imphal, March 13 (MExN): In a crackdown against the illegal drug trade in the region, Manipur Police arrested a suspected drug peddler at a checkpoint in Sekmai on March 13. The accused has been identified as Abdul Kalam Azad (32), a resident of Dimapur, Nagaland. He was intercepted by police personnel stationed at the Sekmai Police Station Naka check point. According to a statement from the Manipur Police Control Room, approximately 261 grams of heroin powder were seized from his possession. The police also impounded the four-wheeler, a Chevrolet Cruze bearing registration number NL-07C-0870.
