
Dimapur, September 10 (MExN): Diphupar Village Council and Model Village Council today said to have reached an amicable solution on the village boundary between the two. A joint statement from the two village councils today said the villages have mutually demarcated the boundary on September 7.
The demarcated boundary is the road from ‘the point’ at NH 39 (TV station) (Boundary point one) to CIHSR or erstwhile Referral hospital facing south of Diphupar village and north of Model village; from the point CIHSR fencing (boundary point two old gate) along the CIHSR and private road site fencing stretching straight to the meeting point (boundary point three) of the road from 5th mile leading toward Diphu river approach road, west of Diphupar village and east of Model village; The road from boundary point three to Diphu river bank on the south of Diphupar village and north of Model village and the road from boundary point one to point three shall be kept 30 ft. width and are to be jointly maintained by both the villages.
“The above boundary demarcations have been made as permanent boundary of the Diphupar village and Model village and with this settlement both villages pledged to abide by the decision in accordance to the established Naga village customary laws, practices and usages and shall continue to honor and maintain cordial relationship in the years to come,” the two villages stated.
