Director General Assam Rifles reviews Nagaland situation

Dimapur, February 7 (MExN): Lieutenant General Shokin Chauhan, YSM, SM, VSM, Director General Assam Rifles (DGAR) visited Nagaland on February 7 to review the security situation.  

Inspector General Assam Rifles (North) briefed the Director General on the security situation prevailing in the state and the security being provided by Assam Rifles for safe conduct of elections, including operational preparedness, informed a press release from Assam Rifles.  

The Dimapur Sector Commander also elaborated on various measures being taken by Assam Rifles to ensure security situation in his sector.  

According to the release, the Director General expressed satisfaction on the arrangements and progress made. Lieutenant General Shokin was also updated on the activities of Assam Rifles Training Centre and School.  

He interacted with officers and troops of Assam Rifles and appreciated their hard work, dedication and professionalism, the release stated. He further exhorted them to continue the good work and live up to the motto ‘Friends of the North East People'.  

The release added that the DGAR conveyed his best wishes to the people of Nagaland for safe and clean assembly elections.
