KOHIMA, AUGust 8 (DIPR): Director, Information & Public Relations E.T. Ngullie called upon the officers and staff of the Department to fully avail training opportunities so as to become responsible and efficient employees in office functioning. He was speaking at the inaugural function of the 3 Day Training on Mass Skill Up-gradation for IPR officers and staff at Kohima today.
Ngullie said that the training is a follow-up to the Training of Trainers held at Administrative Training Institute last year and has been made compulsory for all government departments and the Secretariat, as the Government is emphasizing on training of its employees to work fully and systematically. Trainings enhance one’s perception in this regard, he said. He urged the trainees to view the training as a means to improve their skills, effectiveness and efficiency. He called upon the trainees, representing the districts to carry back with them the information and impart the knowledge to fellow workers, adding that this is one main purpose of the training. He also cautioned the staff against leaving their respective stations without availing Station Leave.
Deputy Director, Limawati gave a brief introduction to the training. He said that the government is giving a lot of emphasis on mass skill upgradation and training of various categories of staff under the State Government. He said that training of staff to properly carry out their assigned duties has become very important, especially with the introduction of the Right to Information Act 2005, where Government employees are duty bound to furnish information if requested for.
Chipeni Merry, Joint Director who chaired the programme welcomed the participants and said that the training has been designed in such a way that the trainees acquire maximum knowledge within minimum time. She added that while three days is not sufficient to develop skills, yet it will be an eye opener to learn as much as possible. The three day training will be conducted by departmental officers who had undergone Mass Skill Upgradation training at Administrative Training Institute, Kohima in November last year.
