Kohima, January 30 (MExN): The Directorate of Health & Family Welfare bade farewell to Principal Director, Dr. Nandira Changkija, Addl. Director Dr. Narola Ao, Dy. Director (Nursing) Dr. Tepuhosule, Health Education Officer (IEC) Kevichol Sale, and two staff drivers from the department on January 30.
Farewell speeches were delivered by M. Patton, IAS, Comm. & Secy. H & FW, and Dr. Sukhato Sema, the incoming Principal Director, a press release from the IEC Bureau, Dir. of H&FW stated.
Patton in his speech said that due to superannuation, much transition within a span of one year has brought a lot of difficulties within the department not only in the Directorate but also in the Secretariat. He congratulated all the retirees and added that retirement from service is not the end but a new beginning.
Outgoing Principal Director, Dr. Changkija, and the host of outgoing officers and staffs were lauded and congratulated for their services, the release stated.
“Dr. Changkija, the lady with the iron fist in the department was much lauded by all the well wishers and Officers as the most charismatic, experienced, influential, intelligent, outspoken, and perhaps one of the best Gynaecologists in the State during her time,” the release from the H&FW Directorate stated.
Dr. Sukhato lauded Dr. Changkija for her immense initiation in bringing World Bank aided Nagaland Health project in the department, it added.
