Dimapur, March 14 (MExN): The three days training on ‘Community First Responder’ (CFR) for youth of Peren district, was inaugurated today in Jalukie Town. The training organized by the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) and District Disaster Management Authority, Peren, in collaboration with Home Guard & Civil Defence (HG&CD) Nagaland, is being held at Recreational Centre, Jalukie Town, informed Rendemo Shitio, DPO, NSDMA.

The press release said that main resource person of the day, Dr. Thingtimla Yimchunger, Medical officer, CTI, Toluvi, Dimapur talked on ‘Introduction to Medical First Responder’, ‘Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation’ and ‘Foreign Body Airway Obstruction’. The presentation was followed by practical demonstration and role play by the participants. SDO (C) Jalukie, Meren Imsong in his welcome address stressed that community needs to be aware of disaster preparedness and be ready to effectively respond when disaster strikes. Further, he urged the participants to take CFR training seriously, and learn different methods and techniques of Medical First Responder. Around 30 youth, representing different blocks under Peren were present at the training.
