The District Level Red Ribbon Quiz Competition 2026 for Zunheboto District was held at the conference hall of Hezukhu Memorial District Hospital Zunheboto on May 23. The programme was organised by DISHA Zunheboto and sponsored by Nagaland State AIDS Control Society under the Directorate of Health & Family Welfare, Nagaland, Kohima.
The programme was graced by Niukali K Assumi, Councilor, Zunheboto Town Council (ZTC) as the special guest.
In her address, the special guest encouraged the participants to remain curious and continue learning. Quoting Albert Einstein, she said, “The important thing is not to stop questioning,” and reminded the students that quiz competitions are not only about winning but also about learning and expanding one’s horizons.
Addressing the students, she stated that their participation reflected dedication, hard work, and courage. Assumi further encouraged them to keep reading, questioning, and exploring knowledge with an open mind, adding that every participant had already achieved something valuable by stepping into the competition.
In the competition, Immanuel Higher Secondary School represented by Likena Sumi and Elly V Aye secured the first position. Olympic Higher Secondary School represented by Likena N Chophy and Ilino H Awomi secured the second position, while Woodland Higher Secondary School represented by Apunu N Rochill and Vikihimi secured the third position.
The first position holders will represent the district at the state-level competition.
Earlier the event was chaired by Jubit K, DIS Zunheboto, while the invocation was pronounced by Kivika T Yepthomi, Chaplin District Hospital Zunheboto. Welcome address and vote of thanks were delivered by Hokishe Chophy, DPO, DISHA Zunheboto.
