Disparity between have and have-nots creating crisis

Vatsu Meru, MLA 7 A/C Peren today said the disparity between Have and Have-not is escalating the society in present scenario of the state,  and to maintain and balance them has become a major crises especially like Peren district.

He was speaking at the inaugural function of the Peren district teachers seminar as the chief guest at Peren town hall with the theme ‘Teaching Towards Excellence’.

‘We believe that this seminar will be able to give a giant leap in educational system in the area, and we have a great concerned to elevate the people of our district’ he  said while expressing his apprehension on prevailing situation of the educational system in the district, adding that, the top priority should be Human Resources Development beside infrastructural development.

Disclosing the historical fact, he echoed, that Zeliangrong community has been always in the forefront in educational field in the past, and further added, that the first Naga Headmaster in Impur Mission School was from the community.

He also urged upon the teachers and parent to mould and shape the children by availing them with quality education apart from the bookish knowledge and further encouraged them to discovered the fact and foster creativity of the child to find out their problem. He also extend his appreciation towards the ANSTA Peren district and SSA for organizing and sponsoring such a significant and valuable program.

Also speaking at the occasion, Apeuna Iheilung DIS Peren, said that, the District has been a long felt need for such a program and further express her satisfaction which will be obviously beneficial for the teaching community.

She also express surprise that some teachers never attend the class for so many months neglecting the school children, by replacing a proxy teacher.

Highlighting the obstacle of office functionary, she elaborated the obstacle faced by the district due to shortage of teaching staff “we have put up our proposal to the higher authority for creation of New Post but till date there is no response ” she lamented. Lima EAC Peren in her short speech encourage the teachers to update their teaching skill at par with the other part of the world and further asked them to be sincere and humble in their duties.

Lungchui President Zliangrong Students Union Nagaland also exhort the gathering in his short speech The program was chaired by Kiengau President ANSTA Peren while special number was presented by the Bridge.and invocated by Rev. Kuzierang thou Executive Secy. ZBCC. 

It may be mentioned that one minute silence was also observed in remembrance of Lt. TAKU ANSTA Gen Secy. Who passed away on April 23, 2007. 

Today’s resource person include Rose Mary, Co-ordinator centre for Mass communication NU and Ratan Kaurinta Lecturer Dept. of Commerce NU. The seminar will go on for till Tomorrow, which was attended by around 300 teaching staff.
