Kiphire, October 2 (MExN): The District Hospital Kiphire celebrated its 36th Foundation Day on October 2 at the New Hospital Complex.
According to a press release, Deputy Commissioner Kiphire, Sedevikho Khro, speaking as chief guest stressed on the importance of ownership and acknowledgement for public property. He stated that like the Medical Department, all government departments work for the welfare of the people and said, "When an employee works at a far flung area, one does not look for the comforts of a home; but for co-ordination and understanding from the public. This helps in bringing about change and development in the area."
He thanked the medical staffs for their tireless service rendered and appreciated the efforts taken to observe the programme.
Earlier, in a keynote address, Dr. Tsipongchem Sangtam gave insights on the history and profile of the District Hospital, the services provided and the ongoing projects. He said, "We are observing this day to honour and remember the pioneers who started from scratch with minimum facilities. To see the changes that have taken place over the years is a landmark achievement."
Dr. C. Tsenthunglo Patton, CMO, in his speech stressed on the need for the public to work hand in hand with the medical department for the welfare of the community.
Brief speeches were also delivered by Sepithong, Hd. GB Kiphire Town; Tsipikyu, Hd. GB Kiphire Village; Tsalimong, on behalf of land donors; and Khadomong, Executive Secretary USSC Kiphire.
