Dimapur, November 13 (MExN): In continuation of the nationwide campaign on Government e-Marketplace (GeM) a two-day district level workshop (November 13 and 14) organized by Finance Department of Nagaland is underway at Dimapur at the Conference Hall, Commissioner of Taxes Dimapur. Opening the day-1 workshop, Additional Commissioner of Taxes Y Mhathung Murry spoke about the purpose of GeM. He said that the national public procurement portal will do away with the tender procurement system and replace it with a modern system based on technology. The portal is aimed at making Government purchase of goods and services completely transparent efficient and open, he added. He also encouraged the local vendors and entrepreneurs to avail the opportunity.
The workshop was focused on registration of buyers and sellers. The session includes presentation on GeM portal, Training on GeM portal, Interactive session with buyers and sellers and Hands on Training/ users Registration.
According to a DIPR report, so far in Nagaland 36 Buyers and 92 sellers have been registered.
