The District Level Youth Festival was held today at the DBHSS Youth Centre in Wokha, showcasing a range of competitive events including a Science Fair, Declamation, Painting, and Performing Arts. The event was organised by the District Youth Resources Office Wokha in collaboration with DBHSS as the Knowledge Partner.

Father TC Joseph, in his address, expressed his honour at hosting the festival at the school. He emphasised the importance of art and its multifaceted impact on human life, citing the Biblical principle that "man does not live by bread alone" to highlight the need for intellectual, emotional, and artistic development.

He praised the efforts of the Central government in promoting various skills beyond academics, noting that such initiatives are crucial for personal and societal advancement.

Yanrenthung Humtsoe, Chairman of the MSME Promotion Council of India for Wokha District, extended his gratitude to the District Youth Resources Office and the event's organisers. Reflecting on his own educational journey, Humtsoe shared a personal anecdote and encouraged students to seize the opportunity to explore their talents and passions during their school years. He highlighted the value of participating in such festivals as a means of gaining an edge and achieving excellence. He mentioned that the festival served as an inspiring occasion for students to display their abilities and engage in various activities, reinforcing the importance of holistic development and skill enhancement for future success.

The program was chaired and welcome address by the Chairperson, K. Libemo Jami, DYRO, Wokha.

The panel consisted of Dr Longshibemo Yanthan from DIET Wokha, Anuranjan, Skill Development Officer, Wokha, Suben Ezung, a renowned freelance artist, and Yanrenthung T. Murry, who represented Nagaland at the TAFMA event nationally.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks, followed by light refreshments and musical entertainment provided by various local bands.
