
Kohima, October 17 (MExN): The District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting for Kohima district was held on October 15 at the DPDB Hall, Kohima under the chairmanship of Dr Tseilhoutuo Rhutso. The meeting, chaired by Deputy Commissioner Kumar Ramnikant, IAS, reviewed the minutes of the previous meeting and welcomed a new member to the board.
The Carl Roger’s Institute of Mental Health Research Centre, based in P Khel, Kohima village delivered a PowerPoint presentation on their activities. The board deliberated on the presentation and decided to seek feedback from the Higher Education and Social Welfare Departments before recommending society registration.
For the registration of the Chiechama Students’ Union from Chiechama village, the house suggested a change of nomenclature prior to approval. The board also discussed the proposed transfer of Dihoma, Kijümetouma Bawe, and Basa Villages from Kezocha Administrative Block to Chiephobozou Administrative Block, agreeing to forward the proposal to higher authorities for approval.
A detailed presentation was given by the Urban Development Department, Kohima, through Joint Director Kezhochole Rhetso, highlighting various schemes and programs being implemented in the district. These included components of DAY-NULM, with 226 Self-Help Groups registered in Kohima, and socio-economic profiling under PM SVAN NIDHI for street vendors. Rhetso also shared progress on initiatives like PMFME, Swachh Bharat Mission, Kohima Municipal Council Legacy Waste Quantification Survey, AMRUT Mission, and UIDS. She added the need to conduct social work in Kohima according the guidelines.
Dr Tseilhoutuo Rhutso mentioned an increase in the Village Adoption Committee fund, raising it from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 3 lakh as seed money, and encouraged departments to contribute for more effective implementation.
The meeting concluded with a briefing by SDO (C) Kohima, Abeinuo Jasmine Ashao, who highlighted the SHe-Box initiative, an online system for addressing complaints related to sexual harassment of women in workplaces.
Chümoukedima: The Chümoukedima District Planning & Development Board was held on October 15 at DC, conference hall, Chümoukedima under the chairmanship of Advisor, Urban Development & Municipal Affairs and Chairman DPDB, Zhaleo Rio.
The chairman suggested the house to involve the Town Council members to participate in the DPDB meeting so that they can share their plans and development for Chümoukedima district. Further, he appealed the members to include agenda for plying NST bus service to Medziphema Town.
During the review of last meeting minutes, opening of new Government primary school at Melongmem village which was recommended after verification by the administration and Education Department. Registration of society for Shiheli Old Age Home, Ganeshnagar village and Two Wheelers’ Taxi Association, Chümoukedima, and recognition of Lhokheto village under Dhansiripar sub division, Chümoukedima was deferred to the next DPDB meeting for further verification and submission of mandatory documents.
Agendas for upgradation of Jehoval Jirah School, Videma Village, Chümoukedima to class Vlll and society registration of Sangtam Atanglah Cultural society 7th Mile were approved and forwarded for recommendation.
The board also constituted a committee for the maintenance of the unity Gate, Chümoukedima with DC as chairman and the DCP, EE PWD (NH), EO (CTC), EO (MTC) and DCO (Art & Culture) as members. It was also agreed to add new co-opted members in the committee if needed.
Mon: The Mon District Planning & Development Board was held on October 15 at DC’s conference hall, Mon under the chairmanship of Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS, Deputy Commissioner & Vice Chairman DPDB, Mon.
The application received for registration of Monnu Youth Organisation, Mon under society Registration was approved and recommended to the concerned department for registration after one of its members presented a brief history and activities of the society. The DC said that society recognition or registration depends on the activities of the society on the ground reality.
The board deliberately discussed the preparation for the Governor of Nagaland visit to Mon on 17th October 2024. In this connection, the DC urged the members to be properly prepared.
The NHIDCL and Water Resources Department highlighted their departmental activities through PowerPoint presentations. District Horticulture Office and Rural Development were entrusted to present their Departmental activities in the next DPDB meeting.
Shamator: The Shamator District Planning and Development Board meeting was held on October 15 at DBs Court, Shamator under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner & Vice Chairman, Chubatemjen NCS.
The meeting began with the review of previous agendas followed by introduction of new agendas such as the construction of Sub-centre building at Chassir village, upgradation of Chessore Urban Station Committee to a full-fledged town council (CTPF), construction of PHC Chessore building, acquisition of an Ambulance and a Medical Officer for Chessore PHC, opening of SBI ATM bank in Shamator town and registration of Kiuti City Boys Society.
Phek: Phek DPDB held its monthly meeting on October 15 at DPDB Conference Hall, Phek under the chairmanship of Advisor for New & Renewal Energy, NSDMA and Chairman DPDB Phek, Z Nyusietho Nyuthe. The meeting begins with a welcome note from Deputy Commissioner, John Tsulise Sangtam followed by facilitation of SP, Phek, Dr Pritpal Kaur, IPS for her achievement in IACP 40 under 40 Award 2024. Dr Pritpal acknowledged her gratefulness towards the DPDB Phek for felicitating her.
Addressing the meeting, Advisor & Chairman DPDB Phek, Z Nyusietho Nyuthe had mindfully stated about slow pace of development in the State. Therefore, he urged and reminded the officers of the developmental Departments to give their sincere mind and effort for taking up those developmental programs in the district judiciously.
MLA, Dr Neisatuo Mero spoke concerning the anticipated delimitations of Parliamentary and Assembly Constituencies likely to be executed by the year 2026 in the state and urged the state Government and its citizens to be well prepared beforehand.
The meeting deliberated about the deteriorating conditions of Chakhabama-Kihruma two lane stretches under Kohima and Phek districts was raised by Advisor for CAWD & Taxes, Kudecho Khamo. The house, then decided to write a resolution letter to the NHIDCL for immediate repairing of the said stretches to the extent of motor-able condition of the two lane road.
The meeting discussed agenda with regards to change of nomenclature of Nazareth School to Nazareth Higher Secondary School, Pfutsero where the House, then agreed to recommend the matter to the higher authority for approval. Assistant Project Officer, In-charge of Project Implementing Agency, Land Resources Department (LRD), Phek presented various departmental activities initiated by the department under Phek district at the meeting.
Kiphire: The Kiphire District Planning & Development Board meeting was held on October 16 under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner & vice Chairman DPDB Kiphire, Temsuwati Longkumar at DC’s conference hall, Kiphire.
While discussing on the application for registration of society in respect of Tizisa Cultural Club Society, Sangphure village under Kiphire, the board approved the proposal and forward to the higher authorities for registration.
NGOs from Kiusam Area and Kiphire requested the district administration to apprise the line departments regarding improvement and maintenance of drainage system in Kiphire town area under the aspirational development projects.
The Chairman reminded the board regarding the visit of the Finance Minister of India to Kiphire in the month of November 2024 and discussed the preparation for the visit. The DC also urged the members to be in their respective place of posting and to be well prepared with their departmental activities.
Superintendent of Police Kiphire, Chinese Chakhesang, ADC Kiphire, Longdiba L Sangtam and GM, DIC Kiphire, Y Intsangju also spoke in the meeting.
Tseminyu: The monthly District Planning & Development Board meeting of Tseminyu was held on October 17 under the chairmanship of MLA &Chairman DPDB Tseminyu, Jwenga Seb at DC’s conference hall Tseminyu,
The chairman welcomed all the board members followed by review of previous meeting minutes and discussion on agendas of the day. While reviewing the last meeting minutes regarding the land marked for district court complex, it was informed that all the necessary verification have been done by the verification committee and submitted to the concerned department for approval and necessary action.
The following agendas were discussed in the meeting. Registration of new society includes All Rengma Welfare Society and Commercial Vehicles Pickup Driver Union were discussed and forwarded to the concerned department. Construction of District Planning Office and deputation of dedicated DPO for Tseminyu District and construction of District Jail at Tseminyu were also discussed and forwarded the proposal for approval to the government.
The department of Land Resources gave their departmental activities through power point presentations on the implementation of various projects and achievements of the department under Tseminyu District. Fishery department was assigned to present PPT in the next DPDB meeting.The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks from the chair.
