
Dimapur, August 10 (DIPR): The monthly meeting of Dimapur District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) was held at DC's conference hall here on August 10 with Parliamentary Secretary, I&FC and Chairman, DPDB, Dimapur, Jacob Zhimomi as the chairperson.
The meeting approved the Local Area Development Programme (LADP) for the year 2016-17. Based on the verification report submitted by the verification committee, the registration of Immanuel Multipurpose Welfare Society, Khekiho Colony, Kuhobuto Town, Living for Environment Society, Indisen village and Immanuel College Alumni Association, Lengrijan and transfer of Sunrise Secondary School from Tokiye, Zunheboto district to Padampukhuri, Dimapur district were approved to be forwarded to the government.
PowerPoint presentation on departmental activities was presented by the Department of Power and Forest during the meeting. State Leprosy Officer, Dr. Ahu Sekhose informed the house that due to high prevalence of leprosy in the district, the department will be sending their staff for house to house screening. He therefore appealed to all the members present in the meeting to help spread the message in their offices and neighbourhood.
Deputy Commissioner, Kesonyu Yhome, IAS also reminded all heads of the offices to send PIO or APIO for RTI training at DC's conference hall on August 23 and 24. The DC also informed all heads of offices to visit DDSC Stadium in the coming days to see the ongoing works assigned to their departments for Independence Day celebration.
Yitachu calls on officers to be serious in work
The monthly meeting of Phek District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) was held on August 9. Minister for School Education, Yitachu, who attended the meeting, pointed out that the society is lacking in truth and called upon all to change the mindset and retrospect for the long run where truth will prevail. He maintained that collection of data and views of the people is important in making decisions in the right direction. Yitachu also pointed out that government jobs have reached saturation point in the State and “we” need to think about self sustenance. He further called upon all officers to be serious in their work.
“We need to change our mindset in the field of education for betterment of our society,” he added and asked the teaching faculties to be more realistic and practical. LADP fund for the current year was also finalized in the meeting.
Registration of society which was submitted by the Gorkha union of Meluri sub-division was approved by the board to be forwarded to the government for necessary action.
Noklak SDPDB approves various agenda
Noklak Sub-Divisional Planning & Development Board (SDPDB) meeting was held on August 5 under ADC Noklak & Vice Chairman Noklak SDPDB, K. Mhathung Tsanglao. The meeting deliberated on establishment of new Government Primary School at Sanglao village under Thonoknyu sub-division and decided to forward the agenda to the department concerned for further necessary action.
Requisition of traffic personnel to man the junction at Noklak town which was submitted by the town sector union was approved to be forwarded to the SP Tuensang for consideration citing the problem of increase in the traffic and resulting accident cases in the town area on account of unregulated traffic.
Proposal for construction of town hall at Hq Noklak submitted by the Khiamniungan Tribal Council was approved to be forwarded to the concerned department as the existing town hall is old and unfit for use.
LADP 2016-17 schemes in respect of 56 and 57 Assembly Constituencies was unanimously approved to be forwarded to the department concerned for consideration. Departmental activities of Power Department of Noklak and Thonoknyu sub-division were presented by the JE (Power), Noklak. Department of Forest, Noklak was entrusted to present their departmental activities in the next meeting.
The meeting also discussed work distribution amongst the various departments for the forthcoming Independence celebration at Noklak headquarters.
Wokha DPDB approves LADP for 2016-17
The monthly Wokha District Planning and Development Board meeting was held on August 9 at DC Conference Hall, Wokha under the chairmanship of Chairman DPDB Wokha and Home Minister, Y. Patton, and Advisor for Treasuries and Accounts Relief and Rehabilitation Dr. T.M. Lotha.
The meeting discussed and approved the finalisation of LADP for 2016-17. Government High School Baghty’s nil result during the last HSLC was deliberated upon where the chairman expressed dissatisfaction with the clarification given by the Head Master and warned that if the school fails to produce nil result consecutively for three years the school will be abandoned as per decision taken by the government. He said attendance of the teachers will be taken seriously and suggested submission of monthly attendance report. Dr. T.M. Lotha suggested conducting special coaching classes for the selected students to produce better results.
Shifting of various departments functioning above DC’s office complex and shifting of DC office to new site was also discussed. The Home Minister assured to award an amount of Rs. 1 (one) Lakh from his end if any student comes out in the top ten positions from any Government school in the district.
