District review cum orientation on world population held in Peren

Peren, July 7 (MExN): The Chief Medical Office, Peren District under the chairmanship of the CMO, Dr Denis Hangsing held its District Review meeting cum Orientation on World Population Stabilization Fortnight at Conference Hall, Chief Medical Office, District Headquarter, New Peren on July 5.


The meeting was attended by Deputy CMO, DPO NVBDCP, DTO RNTCP, DPO UIP/RCH, Medical Officers from Mbaulwa, Ntuma, Azailong, Heningkunglwa, Dungki Primary Health Center, Epidemilogist, Pharmacist and nurses from all Health Units, DAPCU, District Program Management Unit and Block Program Management Unit Staff.


A press release from District Media Officer, CMO office stated the CMO appreciated the members for attending the monthly meeting and urged all the staff to be sincere.


He further stressed that the monthly meeting is “very important” for disseminating information, to update and communicate with one another.


Dr M Nukshisangla Jamir, DPO, UIP/RCH briefed the members about the World Population Day and Population Stabilization Fortnight which will be held from July 11 till July 24.


She also highlighted about the mobilization fortnight that is being carried out since June 27 and will continue, where ASHAs are conducting Inter personal communication in all the villages and awareness are conducted using the church platforms by the IEC personnel and DCM. And Focus group discussion is to be held in all the Health Units.


The members were asked to carry intensive awareness about Family Planning and Health Units to conduct counseling during the OPD hours, provide free FP service delivery such as distribution of condoms, OCP, E-pill, IUCD insertion and Lab ligation.


She also informed that Lap ligation will be done at CHC Jalukie and District Hospital Peren.

Focus should also be given on spacing and delaying age at marriage, said Jamir and urged everyone to work in coordination to achieve the target.


IEC materials posters, leaflets, booklets and flex on family planning were distributed to all the health units.


Later, Continuing Medical Education on Common Eye Diseases and its management was presented by Dr Lydia Ndang, MO Ntuma PHC and Management of Diarrhoea in Children was presented by Dr Ramdeu Lungalang, MO Heningkunglwa PHC. The next review meeting is fixed on August 7.
