District Sports Council Zunheboto organised a felicitation programme sports person at DSCZ Indoor Stadium on September 14.

Zunheboto, September 15 (MExN): The chairman and members of the District Sports Council Zunheboto organised a felicitation programme for Zunheboto district Podium finishers in the 2nd Nagaland Olympic & Paralympic Games 2022, 44th Inter District & State Open Badminton Championship and other budding sports calibres from the district from Catch Them Young tournament, at DSCZ Indoor Stadium on September 14.
A press release received here stated that gracing the function, Advisor, School Education and SCERT, KT Sukhalu said that he was very happy to see the young athletes from the district with potentiality in the field of sports and said how he was worried at first, seeing the tally of Zunheboto at the bottom but he was surprised to see the tally of Zunheboto rise.
Sukhalu said that as fact is, there is always a merit in every field and there are many sportspersons who are not good in their studies but can be a good sportsperson and therefore urged not only to look for government job, as we can also earn our livelihood through sports provided we will to walk the extra mile with discipline and consistency. He added that, failure is when we aim for fame and popularity only.
Nikito Tsuqu, consecutive two times gold medalist (Boxing) while delivering a short speech said that he was always proud to be born as Naga and as Sumi and even before joining the boxing he had a zeal to do something good for the community and that today he could fulfill it through sports. He said that to him sports was a sincere passion of true Sportsmanship and genuine contribution to the field of sports, and with this enthusiasm he seek to be better in sports in our state.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by DSCZ member, Zhekugha Assumi, thanks giving prayer was offered by Pastor SBCZ, Ghunato.
