Mon, July 11 (MExN): District workshop on Measles-Rubella Vaccination Campaign was held on July 10 at DRDA Hall, Mon with an aim to reduce measles morbidity and mortality.
Chief Medical Officer, Mon, Dr Kechongol Sophie shared the objective of the workshop, which is to ensure quality vaccinators’ training and orientation of all health-link workers on safe injection practice and effective social mobilization for maximum coverage.
Deputy Commissioner Mon, K. Thavaseelan (IAS), who inaugurated the workshop, requested all the participants to fully attend the workshop and take every component ahead for the successful implementation of the progamme. He then announced to start the Measles-Rubella Vaccination Campaign under Mon district, informed a press release.
The workshop began with the basic strategic operational plans – micro planning and school micro planning which led to explaining on recording, reporting, and monitoring tools. The first half of the workshop ended with the management of MR vaccine, cold chain and logistics. Post lunch activities were AEFI treatment/ management during MR campaign, group work, how to organize vaccination session sites including injection safety & waste management.
The resource persons were Dr Danish Suhail, RRT (WHO), Dr Imtijungshi, DPO (RCH &UIP), Dr Kumkiuba, MO (IDSP), and Mewang, SHP Coordinator.
The workshop ended with FAQs on MR Campaign, including routine immunization and rollout plan with timelines and other guidelines.
