The District Youth Parliament Festival for Mokokchung and Zunheboto districts was held at Jubilee Memorial College (JMC), Mokokchung as a part of the National Youth Parliament Festival 2019. The programme was jointly organized by the NSS Units and NYK, Mokokchung.
At the Youth Parliament Festival, a prepared speech competition was held for the students of JMC and college students from Zunheboto districts. The jury members for the competition were L.S. Vinod Kumar, Associate Professor, Fazl Ali College; Sungkum, Assistant prof, People’s College; Limasenla Jamir, correspondent, The Morung Express, and Watitoshi, Assistant Prof, Fazl Ali College.
Forty students competed from JMC, with Moasenla being adjudged as the winner.e Noklensangyu and Arensangla secured the second and third places respectively. Six students participated in the competition from Zunheboto district, with Bokai T Achumi, Nika H Khulu and Vinato I Chopi adjudged as the first, second and third place winners.
The winners at the district level youth parliament festival will represent the district at the State level youth parliament which will be held in the state capital.
Earlier in the programme, welcome address was given by Mulato Keny, NSS, Teacher in-charge, JMC and the key note address was delivered by John Makhabo, DYC, NYK, Mokokchung.
