KG Kenye addressing the IIMUN, Nagaland Chapter at Living Stone Foundation Higher Secondary School, Dimapur held from November 9 to 10.
Dimapur, November 11 (MExN): KG Kenye, Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha said that “diversity is the strength and the beauty of the Nation and if any leader of the nation does not accept the fact, he or she does not qualify as a leader of the state, and how to make use and to capitalize on these facts and characters is our job.”
He was addressing the Indian International Model of United Nations (IIMUN) Nagaland Chapter at Living Stone Foundation Higher Secondary School, Dimapur held from November 9 to 10.
He said that the country because of its peculiar composition of multi-culture, multi-racial, multi-religion has the potential to make Indian world-class citizen acceptable in any region of the world. It has a perfect setting in everything.
Kenye also said that the North East Region is extremely tribal and one of the most complex and diverse citizens of this country and asked the young participants from across the country to acquire and familiarize themselves with the issue concerning of this region, stated a press release issued by PRO to M.P (RS).
Highlighting the North East Region, Kenye said that the social-political aspect is one major area which impacts the daily life of an individual or the nation. There are certain social-political issues which need to be addressed which have its root in the North East Region, he said.
He appreciated the Organization of IIMUN for bringing an opportunity to our young generation to participate in a progressive benefiting events which he hopes will usher in the world to our doorstep and avail opportunity and also be a window to the world to join hand to participate in all activities concerning humanity and to become part of global citizenship.
While stressing on the climate change, he lamented because of social economy factor we keep on exploiting our natural resources. “Our unmindful actions which have been overshadowed because of our creed have landed us in the destruction of our own home and expressed that something has to be rechecked starting from the individuals to the International community,” he said.
“My Young friends, you will compose of the adult matured citizen of this nation in few years time and you will occupy the position where you will plan and envision what the country will be in the next few years. This in term will have cascaded impacts results on our neighbours and thereby carry further to other parts of the world,” he further exhorted the students.
“I wish that the authorities, people behind, the power behind sometimes study the constitutions of different states of this country,” Kenye said and added that the State of Nagaland has Article 371(A) which has a special provision in the constitution of the country. “We wish this is not infringed upon and call upon the Young intellectuals to be a guide to the national leader that the things which are written in the Constitution as guaranteed should be upheld in letter and in spirit,” he said.
The most important thing the country needs today than anything else is unity. “Let us help the policymakers, the administrators, government and other people sharing the front to motivate the people to garner and mobilise the unity from grassroot level up to the World level,” Kenye encouraged. He assured support to the people and wished the organization all the best.
