Divine Mercy Health Services (DMHS) Day Care Hospital was formally inaugurated at Liangtuang Tower, Ward-3, Chümoukedima on February 21 in a ribbon cutting ceremony led by Rev Dr Fr George Rino, Parish Priest of St Joseph Parish.
The facility aims to deliver advanced, hospital-quality healthcare services with a strong focus on preventive care. Delivering the welcome address, Dr Nekhini Adaho, Consultant at DMHS, stated that the main focus of the healthcare facility is not to treat the sick, but to detect potential health problems before symptoms appear and address them at an early stage.
Emphasising the principle that “prevention is better than cure,” Dr Adaho noted that investing time in healthy habits and regular health check-ups before falling ill can help individuals avoid serious diseases while minimising long-term medical expenditure.
The day care hospital is dedicated to comprehensive master health check-ups and assessments, offering health screening facilities and packages for diabetes, heart disease and cancer. DMHS is collaborating with ARHI Hospital, Jorabat, Meghalaya — a multi-super-speciality hospital with dedicated oncology services, to strengthen its diagnostic and referral network.
Dr Adaho said the facility’s mission is to transform traditional healthcare into a seamless, proactive and digitally driven system through the digitisation of health data. This, he added, will ensure early detection of illnesses, empower healthcare providers with better insights and facilitate timely, high-quality treatment for every patient.
Highlighting its outreach vision, he said the facility is equipped with travel-friendly diagnostic tools capable of conducting tests such as liquid profiling and ECG etc, enabling rapid screening and immediate preliminary results. “If you can’t go to the hospital, we bring the hospital to you,” he remarked, adding that the centre hopes to extend home-based healthcare services in the future.
The hospital currently has two doctors, one dentist and trained nursing staff in accordance with Indian Public Health Standards (IPHS). The equipments used are approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), a US federal agency under the Department of Health and Human Services, as well as by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.
Managing Director Vianney Ruangmei, speaking on the sidelines of the event, said the institution stands on the principle of the three Hs — Human, Health and Help. “We believe accessible, dependable and compassionate healthcare should be available without borders, reaching patients wherever they are,” he said. The facility combines hospital-grade care with state-of-the-art, affordable and dependable services, Ruangmei added.
Dental Surgeon Dr Beheungausile described the hospital as a beacon of hope and a sanctuary of mercy for the people of Chümoukedima and beyond.
“May every patient who enters this hospital feel not only treated but cared for, not only examined but understood, and not only healed in body but supported in spirit,” she said, reaffirming the team’s commitment to ethical, patient-centered healthcare.
The programme was chaired by Temsuinla Imchen, Administrator, Divine Mercy Health Services. Rev Fr Marcus Yanthan, Asst Parish Priest, St Joseph Parish led the invocation, while Rev Temsu Longkumer, Pastor of Police Baptist Church, Chümoukedima delivered the benediction. The hospital will remain open from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, Monday to Saturday.
