‘One Man One Vote should be strictly maintained’

The District Level Coordination Committee members of Phek district for the upcoming ULB Election 2024 in Nagaland, held a meeting on Wednesday under the chairmanship of John Tsulise Sangtam, Deputy Commissioner, Phek.

The chairman highlighted the need for better coordination and peaceful conduct of Town Councils elections 2024 under Phek district.

The meeting resolved that no villagers or outsiders will be allowed to campaign within the town except the star campaigners.

“One Man One Vote should be strictly maintained,” another resolution stated adding that “no proxy voters will be allowed to vote.”

Campaign offices are allowed but youth camps and other camps in the wards is totally restricted.

Only party officials will be allowed to campaign from one ward to another.

The resolution also stated that mass campaign from one ward to another ward is strictly prohibited. Secrecy of votes should be maintained, the resolution added.
