DMC inaugurate roads at Lhomithi, Kevijau

Joint Secretary to the Government of Nagaland, Kevekha Kevin Zehol who is also the Additional Director ATI on Saturday inaugurated two roads at Lhomithi and Kevijau Colonies, Dimapur which was constructed by Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC).  

Speaking at the twin programme held separately, Kevin lauded the DMC led by its Administrator, H. Atokhe Aye for the “good Samaritan works” in developing the town and encouraged the team to continue with their efforts in uplift of municipal areas.  

He was also appreciative of the residents of Kevijau colony who contributed an amount of Rs 3 lakh towards construction of the road in their colony.  

“Such practice should be replicated even in other town and municipal councils so that development can increase in manifold ways,” he said and added that community participation with the government should be upheld.  

Kevin who is also the NCS President appealed the public to lend their support to the DMC for progress and development. He urged upon the public to treat facilities provided by government machineries as their own by inculcating a sense of ownership.  

DMC Administrator, H. Atokhe Aye said that the Municipal was working in a small way towards the progress and development of the town and solicited more support and cooperation from the public.  

During the programme at Lhomithi colony, the Principal of Pranabananda Women’s College handed over a Letter of Appreciation to the DMC for constructing the road leading to the College.
