After going digital in September 2017, the Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) has launched an online registration/payment portal for traders. Described as a one-stop web application for traders, it was launched today by Tovihoto Ayemi, Advisor for Power.
The portal can be accessed through dmcnagaland.com or the main DMC website www.dmc.nagaland.gov.in, which are hosted at the state IT Centre and maintained by SymBios. “This application is an exclusive web application for the traders and applicants for Trade Licence under DMC jurisdiction,” it was informed at the launch programme.
Registration, application, payment of fee and renewal of trade licence can be done through the portal. For pending renewal fee, a trader can make payment by entering the trade licence and ward numbers with or without registering as a user on the web application. It was added that it will be further upgraded to provide different features.
Payments can also be made using mobile web browsers. All major forms of online payment modes are accepted including net-banking and all standard debit and credit cards of any bank. The trader will receive an acknowledgement receipt after a successful payment at the registered email ID or phone number.
For this, a trader has to enter his/her registered mobile number during registration. An existing trader under DMC can register in the web application as a user by providing basic information available in the issued Trade Licence.
New applicants can download or view the details required for application and apply by uploading the requisite documents. It was though added that this process is not fully automated at present and will require new applicants to visit the DMC office. Currently, the traders will be able to view their basic information and current year payment information.
Advisor, Ayemi described the launch of the application as an achievement for the DMC, which would benefit both the business community and the DMC. He said that it will save traders a lot time.
“It’s an achievement. I am sure more projects are in the pipeline,” he said, while adding that the DMC has come a long way.
He also inaugurated the iron sculpture at Duncan Basti, which was built as part of the ‘A Better Dimapur Initiative,’ beautifying a formerly open garbage dumping spot. “Nagaland was recently ranked 3rd in the dirtiest state category. But we should not be discouraged and rather the poor ranking should be taken as an eye-opener,” he commented.
Under this initiative, beautification of 3 other previously garbage dumping sites have also been taken up in collaboration with NGOs.
