Dimapur, July 4 (MExN): The Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) Administrator Moa Sangtam has informed all concerned that the respective colony authorities of DMC (Dimapur Municipal Council) are authorized to check and impose fine on pork/beef butchers who are selling above the rate as fixed by DMC: Pork at Rs 220 per kg, Pork Viscera at Rs 180, Beef at Rs 190 per kg, Beef Viscera at Rs 150 per kg.
The Administrator in a press release further said that as informed earlier, the colony authorities are authorized to impose fine on the butchers who are not processing their livestock at the DMC modern abattoir. They are also authorized to close down any butcher shops that are running without DMC trade license and also to impose fine on defaulters.
The DMC further directed the pork and beef butchers to put up the rate chart of different items in their respective shops. A fine of Rs 1000 can be imposed by the colony authorities for any defaulters of the mentioned directives, the release added.
