DIMAPUR, APRIL 18 (MExN): Responding to reports that most of the Lessee Collectors of DMC Tolls and fee-collection works are in the habit of collecting toll tax on the same item/load more than once at different points, the Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) directed all the Lessees to stop the practice.
The DMC Chairman, Tovihoto Aye and Member In-Charge Tolls & Fees, Pukhavi, in a joint statement said that once the tolls was collected on the item/load at the entry gate, no other lessee collector would have the right to collect the toll on the same item further in any collection point in anyway.
The statement added that the Lessees should collect tolls on the incoming goods/items only and not on the outgoing items/goods and further stated that anyone violating these directions would be liable for legal action as per provision of law which may lead to cancellation of lease contract work.
