DMI SJGS conduct awareness seminar on nCoronavirus

Dimapur, January 31 (MExN): With an objective to create awareness on the epidemic nCoronavirus, DMI St Joseph Global School (SJGS), Dimapur organized a seminar on the topic ‘awareness and preventive measures on nCoronavirus’ for the students of Class VII-IX on January 29.

The seminar began with welcome by Principal Backiyaraj T, who introduced the resource person Richard, Head, Department of Science of the School. 

Richard explained the term virus, various epidemics like Ebola and flu, and put forward facts about the people who have been affected by this virus across the world, besides China. He highlighted that people are greatly affected by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS). 

Talking on the symptoms, Richard highlighted that the people who are affected by this virus show symptoms like cough, cold, difficult breathing and so on with relevant videos and images. 

Richard put forward the preventive measures wherein he emphasized that students should regularly practice hygiene habits like washing their hands with soap, avoiding touching one’s eyes, nose and mouth without washing hands, staying away from farm and wild animals, thoroughly cooking and eating meat and egg etc. 

During the end of the session, the students clarified their doubts about the topic.
