Dimapur, July 20 (MExN): In view of the recent flooding in Dimapur, an emergency meeting was held on July 20 by Dr. K. Vikato Kinimi, Chief Medical Officer, Dimapur and Dr. CW Tungoe, Medical Superintendent, District Hospital Dimapur with Senior Medical Officers.
The meeting constituted a Rapid Response Team (RRT) and decided that the Health Officers will inspect the affected areas from July 21 backed by Mobile Medical Team. Urban Malaria Scheme will start fogging in vulnerable areas and anti-larvae measures will be taken after the water subsides to reduce water borne diseases, the meeting resolved, according to a press release from the Chief Medical Officer, Dimapur.
Meanwhile, the CMO informed all medical staff to be present at their place of posting in the district and be prepared for any outbreak of diseases due to the recent flooding. Medical Superintendent and staff in District Hospital will be prepared for all emergencies, he stated. Further, all GBs, Council members, Chairmen of villages and wards were requested to inform the Department of any epidemic and contact the following RRT for assistance: Dr. Moa Jamir, DPO, NVBDCP (Team Leader); Dr. Ngopela, Medicine Specialist, DHD; Dr. S.
